FAQ – Why am I not seeing any shipping options? Chances are you haven’t entered a shipping address. The calculator has to know where you are before it can quote your shipping options. If you have an account and are logged in, it knows where you are. If you don’t have an account, you will need to enter a shipping address and your options will appear on the page.
$6.99 Flat Rate Shipping
Some orders may qualify for the FLAT RATE shipping. To qualify you must be in the 48 continental United States, your order must be under 30 pounds and cannot contain glass items or Bulk grain sacks. Some larger dropshipped items still qualify (Blichmann, Grainfather etc.) The Flat Rate option says 3-7 days as orders with regular FedEx or USPS shipping selected will be processed first, then the Flat Rate orders. We will ship Flat Rate orders the least expensive method possible.
Other Shipping Info
Orders submitted over the weekend or on Monday (or on a particularly heavy order day) allow one extra day for it to ship due to the volume of orders that come in over the weekend.
If your order contains items from Blichmann or Anvil or VeeGee or Grainfather or Still Spirits or Barley Crusher, allow up to two weeks or more as these items ship directly from the factory and we have little control over their schedule (you can always contact us for more info on these orders and how quickly they are going out)
We ship by FedEx Home Delivery for several reasons. They have given us the best rates, which we pass along to our customers. They have proven to take the best care of packages. And most importantly, they deliver on Saturday at no extra charge (the drawback to that is that they do not deliver on Monday, but that doesn’t affect most homebrewers).
FedEx has recently increased it’s shipping speed and as you can see from the Ground Shipping map below, we are two days or less from over half of the country (being centrally located has its perks). These estimates are based on Business Days so weekends do not count as shipping days for orders.
If you have a specific date or brewing schedule that we need to know about, please include that in your order comments. We try to accommodate to your schedule as much as possible, but the closer you wait until “the last minute” the less our odds are of accommodation. So please plan accordingly. As one of my great teachers taught me, “Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.”
If you have any other questions about shipping speed, feel free to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call us 615-859-2188
We can ship to virtually any address in the United States. Note that there are restrictions on some items and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
International and APO Shipments
At this time we can only ship to Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and APO addresses. Both will be shipped with USPS to make sure the shipping cost is the the lowest and there aren’t any extra charges for tariffs or container storage fees.
Yeast are a living organism, and although we can make every effort to get them to you happy and healthy. Heat is a danger to their viability. Warmer months of the year are of particular concern. We highly recommend that you include at least one ice pack for each yeast ordered. If you are outside of our 1 day ground ship range you should consider doing next day air service if heat could be a factor. We cannot guarantee the viability of liquid yeasts either shipped without an ice pack or shipped with a shipping option of more than one day in transit.
Unless otherwise noted all shipping sales are for domestic packages to the continental United States only.
