Product Description

The ultimate in portability!

Comes with Brand New 2.5 Gallon Keg, Pocket Charger, Gas Disconnect (MFL), Liquid Disconnect (Barb), 4ft of 3/16" Beer Line, Picnic Tap, and ten 16 gram CO2 Cartridges.

Now you can take your homebrew anywhere with ease. You can transfer your already carbonated beer from a larger keg. If you have a CO2 system you can force carbonate in the keg. This can also be used for natural carbonation. Just boil half a cup of water, stir in 1/3 of a cup of dextrose (corn sugar/priming sugar), pour into your cleaned and sanitized keg, then transfer your finished beer from the fermenter to the keg. Leave about an inch and a half of headspace. Lock down the lid and leave at room temperature for about 3 weeks. Now one important suggestion if you are going to do it this way. The long dip tube in the keg goes to the VERY bottom to get every last drop out of the keg, if you naturally carbonate in the keg you will have considerable sediment that the tube will be sitting right in the middle of. So we recommend that you take the long tube out and cut an inch off the bottom (with a tubing cutter or dremel), this will keep the tube up out of the sediment for good clean pours.

Your kit comes with 10 CO2 cartridges, it has been our experience that one cartridge will serve the whole keg (but you may want to take a spare just in case). Extra cartridges are available HERE.

  1. Fits in the fridge

Posted by Daniel on 12th Jan 2012

I bought the small kegs for ease of use. They fit into my fridge no problem. Dimensions are roughly 15x8. It lost a star because the kit doesn't include tubing clamps, also the unit smells like moth balls (not the inside though). This is my first keg kit and am very excited to use these for years to come. Now I am tempted to invest in a co2 set up because I don't have a dremel to saw the dip tube, also don't want to modify a brand new keg - unless I can locate extra dip tubes to mod.

  2. A great way to serve beer!

Unfortunately 2.5 gallon kegs seem to have disappeared from the scene so the people at Rebel Brewer were kind enough to make a 3 gallon tailgate draft system and It is wonderful. I hate bottling and it was the only thing keeping me from wanting to brew, now I have no excuse! I also prefer to naturally carbonate and this system makes that a lot easier.

**Note: 2.5 gallon kegs will be back in stock around mid-November, 2011. Waiting on a container from Italy. -RB

  3. great kit for any party

Posted by marc on 13th Mar 2011

This kit simplifies being able to take a keg to any party. no need to mess with big co2 bottles , regulators and lines etc. just hook up your picnic tap, screw in the co2 injector and your serving your homebrew at any gathering. the only other thing i put on my keg is a keglove so i dont have to keep pulling it out of the cooler.
