Alright, I spoke too soon. I'm brewing my first high gravity beer (OG just under 1.1), and the fermentation went absolutely crazy and made a bit of a mess. I put the airlock brush to work and it did a good job of cleaning up the three-piece. If you're doing normal gravity brews, though, you really shouldn't need one.
