Used 2lbs of this (all they had left) along with 2lbs of the beachwood smoked malt and the rest per the recipe above. Absolutely fantastic. I like my porters to have a very pronounced smokey flavor, hence the 4lbs, and this was just fabulous. Can't wait until it's in stock again :-)

USed this to make the Alaskan Smoked Porter from the clone recipe and have been very pleased with the results. I hope they keep this malt on hand b/c I'd like to try it in a couple of more recipes.

Used this in a souped up version of the Rebel Brewing smoked porter and was very pleased with the outcome.

I'm not gonna lie, I bought this to clone Alaskan Smoked Porter. I need to make a few tweaks on my hops to the recipe, but this malt is so close its scary! This is why Rebel Brewer kicks so much butt! Thanks for giving us brewers great stuff to work with!

Used this as a adjunct in cloning Alaskan's Smoked Porter and it is true to form. 3lbs in a 5gal batch will get you there. Go with 2lbs if you want a less potent version. Support the malt backbone with some body, consider an increased hop rate in preparation for aging. It is phenomenal.

I like using Alderwood over the the typical rauch malt. It has such a nice smooth silky smoked taste that goes great in a stout or porter. Oh and not to mention the only way to make a beer close to a clone of Alaskan Smoked Porter is to use alderwood. I would use atleast 20%
