Product Description

Just the basics. This is where you start. This kit is well equipped to handle a 5 gallon batch (that's over 50 bottles!)

The Basic Kit includes:

  • 6.5 Gallon Fermenter Bucket with drilled and grommeted lid
  • 6.5 Gallon Bottling Bucket with spigot
  • Three Piece Airlock
  • Floating Thermometer
  • 24" Racking Cane
  • 4 ft of Transfer Tubing
  • Tubing Clamp
  • Spring Action Bottle Filler
  • Twin Lever Deluxe Bottle Capper
  • 144 (approx.) Bottle Caps to get you started
  • 18" Heat Resistant Brew Spoon
  • Bottle Brush
  • Instruction Book

With this kit all you will need will be some ingredients (like one of our ingredient kits), a stock pot that can handle at least 8 quarts,
and some pop-top beer bottles (screw tops can't be re-capped easily and usually aren't rated to handle the pressure of bottle conditioning).
You may also want to pick up some cleanser and sanitizer.

  1. Great starting Kit

Posted by Jamie on 23rd Oct 2011

I bought this kit and I love it! I've made several batches of Amber,Dark, pale ale and a wheat ale. Using LME
It is a good basic kit to get you started and is easy to add stuff as you gain more knowledge. My kit came with the thermometer and the spoon.
It arrived earlier than the original shipping date and I live in Idaho.

  2. Great Value

Great value but would be more complete if it came with an Auto-siphon!!! Other than that all of the equipment is decent however I am already thinking of investing in a better bottle or glass carboy.

  3. Solid starter kit

Posted by MEK on 12th Sep 2010

This is the kit I started with except mine came with a hydrometer instead of the spoon and thermometer, which are arguably way more useful when first starting out. A decent pot and a wort chiller is about all you need to add to really get going. An auto siphon is a nice thing to have as well.

  4. Cant beat the price

If you dont want to spend a lot of money and want to get started with just the basic supplies you cant go wrong with this. Perfect kit to get your feet a little wet in the world of brewing.
