I used this in a Dunkel Weiss and a Schwarzbier. I don't like it. More tart and sweet than the maltyness I want in a Munich based beer. It may be fine in percentages less than 10%, but IMO it is not a very good base malt.

Just as the description states adds a nice malty finish to your brew. Just used it in a pale ale and was blown away by the maltiness I was getting in the brew. I have made this recipe before with regular munich and while it was nice the bonlander did add a maltier finish. The brew is a "hop burst" using 6.5 ounces of hops for 5 gallons with hop additions happening in the last 20 minutes. So you can imagine when fresh you get a ton of hop flavor sometimes putting maltiness in the backaseat. But this batch with bonlander is pretty balanced right off the bat so I would recommend it for hoppier beers to get some maltiness to come through. Will probably be one of my go to malts from now on.
