Dave Miller's Homebrewing Guide is a great reference for the homebrewer interested in a concise yet thorough overview of brewing. Just about every topic of concern is covered in this short and accessible book, including an appendix of useful tables, glossary of brewing terms, and an annotated bibliography. My personal favorites and most used sections of this text are/were: Draft System Designs, Beer Evaluation, and a handy Troubleshooting Chart including causes and remedies. So, why not 5 stars?
Although, this is a great reference, it reads like a tech manual. As a beginning brewer, it was less than interesting and not particularly pleasurable to read. However, over the years it has served as an invaluable resource and quick reference. A must for any serious brewers bookshelf.
Cheers!
