Easy extract kit makes an authentic Northern English Brown Ale.
Dryer and hoppier than it's southern brown cousin.
Notes of coffee, nutty, bicuity and a little caramel.
Comes with the Safale S-04 (Edme) dry yeast, which will give
the proper flavor profile and it drops out well leaving your brown
ale nice and clear.

What a Great Kit

It has been a long time since I brewed an extract and since I was ordering anyway... and this style will be profiled at our next club meeting... thought I would give 'er a try.
The beer is awesome but the instructions could use some tweaking. The method described to get to fermentation temp did not work... wish I would have employed my wort chiller.
I fermented for nine days and then kegged.
I do wish the contents were listed like NB does with their kits. Still, two thumbs up on this beer.

I picked this kit for my first brew. The instructions were well written to guide someone that has never brewed before nor seen the home brew process prior to attempting it.

I would consider myself a little above a beginner, as I have read several books on brewing and I am currently working with a profession brewer to build a brewery (I am the business guy).

That being said, it was a lot of work and I know what to do differently next time. The one thing that the instructions are not clear about is when to pull the hops out (if you are using a boiling bag) and also how to proceed if you are using a wort chiller. With additional instructions for some intermediate level users, the instructions would be better.

I can't wait to taste the beer, it smelled great while boiling.
