Figured I would wait until I used it a couple of times to make a true unbiased review. This is because when you open the box, you are stunned at how heavy it is and the quality of product. Can this thing really justify the cost? Sure, I got a turkey fryer for half the cost. But, this Blinchmann boils much faster than my old turkey fryer, easy to adjust down to the smallest flame or up to "afterburner" setting. Clearly, this thing is a gas hog, but lives up to it's name and now that I have done 2 or 3-10 gal batches….I can say I'm a believer too. Ready to buy my 2nd unit!

Like many others I upgrade from a turkey fryer burner to this. It is like going from an old beat up Ford Pinto to a brand new Escalade. The time it takes to bring my mash water up to temperature is half of what it was before. I forgot to time it, but my wort was up to a rolling boil faster than I had imagined possible. My old burner use to leave a thick layer of soot on the bottom of my brewpot. Blichman burns clean and efficient, no soot what so ever. I also purchased the extended legs, which I think should come standard, but oh well.

This is the best upgrade I have made to my system yet. Outstanding benefit per dollar ratio. As others have stated when coming from a turkey fryer high pressure burner to to this is so nice. Much faster to boil. More even heat over a wider area of the kettle bottom. Good control of heat.
The well thought out adjustable kettle retainers/arms are excellent. The unit is nice and stable with good wide "feet/legs". Stainless is a huge bonus as well. Even stored indoors my old turkey fryer was covered in rust. I did not get extensions since I will be mounting this to a stand.

Amazing how fast this sucker heats up my brew kettle. I went from 40+ mins to boil with my turkey fryer burner to about 20mins or less with this one. Would have 5 stars except it toasted my deck. For being a floor model they should try to keep it slightly more elevated so as to not heat the underside that hot. Now my deck has a permanent dark spot. I know they have legs that are optional...but I'm pretty sure it's a must have now and they should just include them in the price instead of making them an "accessory."

This burner is everything you want it to be. As stated earlier I would like to reiterate this is a bit tricky to light for the first time. Burned all the hairs off my hand. Light carefully and quickly once you get the gas flowing. Open the gas up just a bit to get it flowing and then using a long lighter, ignite it as fast as you can. Be safe, happy brewing

I purchased two of these for my all-gravity system and haven't looked back a bit. The old turkey fryers got the job done, but these are so far ahead as to be a joke. The construction is very good with only the standard things to worry about (initially blocked venturies from manufacturing, etc).
Like all Blitchmann products, they made these with brewing in mind, so everything just 'works' as you'd hope. Keggles fit securely and they are not wobbly even with a full 14 gallon boil on. The leg extensions are great for HLT use.
SAFETY NOTE: It takes a little while to figure out how to light these things correctly. They are not as easy to fire up as the old turkey fryers. Use a long lighter and keep your head/arms/legs/kids/dogs out of the way. They flame out with a rather nasty fireball if you don't get it right or if you wick them too far down. Even with that being said, they are still the best you can get without going low-pressure natural gas. As Geoff said, watch out for a boil over, these things put down some major heat and if you are used to taking a nap between sparging and boil, think again. Burning wort is sad.

As a chef the burners in the kitchen are your livelyhood and they have to be top notch. This burner is as good if not better than most of the professional grade burners that we have in the restaurant. If you don't have one, get one.

Best burner ever!!!

What a difference this burner is to my old burner. It takes half the time to heat .This thing is like a jet afterburner! I thought it might burn a hole through the bottom of my kettles LOL. The flame adjustments are terrific too! From wide open to hardly a visible flame without the flame going out. This burner far exceeded my expectations. I also purchased the leg extensions and now no more hot deck. Also it gets the kettle high enough for a good gravity feed to prime my march pump. I love that its made of stainless steel, No Rust! If you buy one I promise you won't regret it.
