Loading... Please wait...You've got to love the guys at Rogue...showing some love for the homebrewers. This kit was designed in cooperation
with Rogue and with the blessing of John "More Hops" Maier, brewmaster at Rogue, so we homebrewers could
make the Flavorful "Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout" ourselves.
Here's what it says on the side of the box:
To: Homebrewers
From: John "More Hops" Maier
Subject: Shakespeare Stout
Stout is probably one of the most forgiving styles you can brew, black in color, big roasted malt flavors
and high bitterness can mask many imperfections!
I recommend you ferment 60° to 70°F
A final gravity of 1.016 to 1.022 is fine
Prost!
John Maier
Brewmaster Rogue
It produces a drink that is virually indistinguishable in color, flavor, and hop profile from the original.
The kit contains almost everything you need to brew an incredible batch of beer:
Malt Extract, specialty grains, boiling hops, aroma hops, and instructions.
There are a couple of things that aren't included that would make life easier, if you don't already have them, you should get:
A grain steeping bag, 2 muslin hop boiling bags, priming sugar (for bottling), bottle caps, some good chlorine-free water
and yeast (we recommend a highly flocculant, fairly high alc. tolerant ale yeast like Rogue's PacMan )
If you like Rogue beers and would like to try more of them, we also carry Dead Guy Ale, Brutal Bitter, Hazelnut Brown Nectar and Morimoto Soba Ale.
