I've used this wlp099 yeast twice now and haven't had much luck in both brews. The main problem is the ester taste...it is horrible. Our last brew has o.g. of 1.075 and it smelled foul the entire fermentation process. Usually the smell goes away but even after bottling you can still taste the overwhelming ester character. The first time I used it the brew turned out decent with mild ester taste, but the o.g. was much lower. I'm sure there is a good brew for this yeast but I haven't found it yet.
