but definitely convenient. I don't get quite as much beer into it as I'd like, but you take what you can get I suppose. Protip: Hold it under (with your finger off the hole) for longer to allow the beer to fill the beer thief. The hole at the other end is small too. For a 6.5 gallon glass carboy, it doesn't reach but a few inches into the beer (and thus requires multiple trips for a hydrometer reading). In theory I suppose you could buy two and attach two middle sections to it, but there are some physics that may prevent this from working and I don't care enough to find out. That it breaks down into three pieces is extremely convenient.
